Maximum sizes for Roof windows and sashes vary by width, height, wind zone and glazing requirement. Your local fabricator will be able to advise whether a configuration is possible. As a guide fixed window panels up to 1500mm by 1000mm width are attainable, however, constraints within the NZ Building Code or NZS4218:2009 may restrict the maximum size.

Frame Types

  • Fixed window frame with 38mm flange cover and 22mm glazing pocket
  • Alternatively, an opening roof window frame is available with 38mm flange cover and 22mm glazing pocket and can be opened using a winding mechanism
  • A range of three beads are available to accommodate glazing options, 22mm, 25mm & 32mm other IGU combinations are available by varying the size of the backing rubbers

Opening roof windows are normally operated using winding gear which can be manually or electronically operated and can include such options as rain sensors so roof windows can close automatically when rain is detected.
